Nick Speed...The Need for Speed

Detroit has long been a hotbed for musical talent... The Motown Sound, J Dilla, Eminem, Kid Rock and countless others who have helped shape the landscape of not only popular music but popular culture as well... Detroit Native son Nick Speed is a high caliber producer who's client list reads as such... 50 Cent, Tupac Shakur, Lloyd Banks, M.O.P., Talib Kweli and Musiq Soulchild. He is currently signed to Money Management Group which is a subsidiary of G-Unit Records.

Towards the end of 2004, friends and long time collaborators Nick Speed and Elzhi (of Slum Village ) teamed up to release "Witness My Growth", a double-CD mixtape chronicaling Elzhi's long, secretive history as a solo artist. To facilitate the release of this long-gestating project, the two created "Libido Sounds," an independent imprint dedicated to releasing quality hip-hop music.
Through connections that Nick made during frequent trips to New York City, a collection of Speed's beats found its way to the hands of Sha Money XL, who offered Nick an in-house production contract and management deal.

I chopped it up on the phone with Nick the other night, whom i met out in Phoenix back in '07 and told him about my new Blog thing... He told me he is currently in the studio working on various projects that will be hitting the streets very soon...
KEEP WATCHFUL EYES
