Scott Storch Arrested For Grand Theft Auto
By Peter Foreman
Producer Scott Storch is no stranger to money problems. In 2008, the producer had his 10 million dollar estate foreclosed and was also hit for back child support payments by his child's mother. The woes continued when Storch was charged with Grand Theft Auto for allegedly failing to return a leased Bentley to the dealer.
Storch posted bail shortly after being arrested. According to reports, the Bentley was supposed to be returned to the owner in 2008, thus violating the terms. Atlas leasing company said that the producer's failure to return the vehicle caused them 65,000 dollars in revenue and during the period in contention, Storch was not paying for the car either.
In a statement Scott's lawyer Bradford M. Cohen said, "We are disappointed in the decision to take a civil dispute and file it as a criminal charge. There are many facts, that when revealed, will clearly demonstrate that there was no criminal wrong doing on behalf of my client."
